On a historic Thursday, the Cal men's swimming team bid farewell to their senior stars with a remarkable performance against the University of the Pacific. But here's where it gets controversial... despite the dominance, only one graduating swimmer, Eduardo Moraes, claimed an individual victory.

Born in Brazil, Moraes is a versatile middle-distance swimmer, having competed in the 200 and 500 free at last year's NCAA Championships. His victory marked a memorable moment in his Cal career.
Undergrad Excellence:
The rest of the meet belonged to the undergrads, with 22-year-old sophomore Zachary Tan leading the charge. Tan dominated all three events he entered, including a breaststroke double, winning the 100 in 52.14 and the 200 in 1:55.07, just shy of his personal bests. Freshman Ryan Erisman, fresh from a stellar performance at the Pro Swim Series, also shone, claiming victories in the 200 free and 200 backstroke.
A Sea of Best Times:
Despite the lopsided score, the Cal men produced an impressive array of personal bests. Danish-born freshman Casper Puggaard clocked a remarkable 45.69 in the 100-yard butterfly, while his teammate, American-born freshman Jack Brown, followed with a 46.65. Pacific's young guns also impressed, with sophomore Nate Rasmussen setting a new personal best of 20.31 in the 50 free, ranking him 7th all-time in program history.
As the regular season comes to a close, the Cal men prepare for their final showdown against arch-rivals Stanford, followed by intense training ahead of the ACC Championships. Meanwhile, Pacific's men conclude their regular season, gearing up for the MPSF Championships.
