The Detroit Pistons, led by the Eastern Conference, mounted a remarkable comeback, outlasting the Phoenix Suns 108-105 on Thursday night. Despite trailing by 16 points in the first half and falling behind in each of the first three quarters, the Pistons rallied behind Duncan Robinson's 19 points and Jalen Duren's 16 points and 18 rebounds. Tobias Harris' game-winning jumper over Dillon Brooks in the fourth quarter sealed their fourth win in five games.
However, the Pistons' victory came with a caveat. Cade Cunningham, who struggled with his shooting, missed 13 of 16 shots, including all 7 of his 3-pointers, and only scored 10 points. The team also had issues at the free-throw line, with Robinson missing a pair of free throws that gave Grayson Allen a chance to shoot a 3-pointer just before the buzzer. Despite these setbacks, the Pistons' resilience and determination prevailed.
The Suns, led by Grayson Allen's 33 points, struggled without star Devin Booker, who was sidelined by an ankle injury. Allen scored 10 points in the first 12 minutes and became the first player in franchise history to make three 3-pointers and block three shots in a quarter, helping the Suns take a nine-point lead. However, the Suns' two-game losing streak continued, as they fell to the Pistons.
Up next, the Suns will face the New York Knicks on Saturday night, while the Pistons will host the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night.
